The natural flow of the wood grain influenced where I made my cuts and which features to emphasize. It led me to depict the meeting of water and sky, with the knot representing the sun, its reflection rippling across the water in hues of warm oranges and cool blues. Created in January, this piece reflects my longing for the warmth of the sun during the cold winter months, capturing a serene moment where light and water converge.
